Indonesia / Bali is not a country but an island in the Indian Ocean. It is one of the many islands that make up the Indonesian archipelago, located in Southeast Asia.

South Bali is often the most popular part of the island with tourists and it includes the beach towns of Canggu, Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Sanur and Uluwatu.

All of Bali is beautiful. It’s a tropical island in the Indian Ocean with amazing beaches, award-winning rice terraces, dramatic live volcanoes, lush jungles and so much more.

Denpasar is the capital of Bali, but most travellers breeze past this city in favour of the beach and highlands. While it isn’t really geared to tourism, you can find several historical, multi-cultural, traditional, and religious gems. There are museums and monuments from the Dutch colonial period, along with several temples that will no doubt surprise you with their allure.

How to get to Bali

Bali has one international airport allowing people to fly from all over the world. Denpasar-Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) is located in the Kuta area, in the south of Bali.

From the United States, you can fly to Bali via Singapore (SIN), Seoul (ICN) or Hong Kong (HKG). The shortest is to board in Los Angeles (LAX), but you can also do the same routes with only one stopover from New York City (JFK).

From Europe, you can fly to Bali with one stopover only via Istanbul (IST), Singapore (SIN), or Kuala Lumpur (KUL) from cities like London (LHR), Amsterdam (AMS) or Paris (CDG).

Bali is a popular and world-famous surfers paradise. The island’s west and east coast offers various of different surf spots for every surf level.

Canggu

On the shores of the Indian Ocean, in the heart of Bali, is the Canggu district.

Canggu (including Berawa) is located in the southwest of Bali, 10 km north of Kuta and 1hour drive away from the airport. As a potential investment location, Canggu offers a laidback lifestyle, close enough to the bigger town amenities without the hustle and bustle.

It is a color ful place abundant choice of chic cafes and restaurants, vibrant nightlife and excellent surf spots.

Tropical days and beachside locations can lull you into easy contentment, and many expats find they’re very relaxed after staying in Bali.

The Berawa beach is where the famous FIINS Beach Club and Atlas Beach Club are located.

 

Sanur

Sanur is located on the east coast of the Island, and a 20 minute car ride from the Nghurah Rai International Airport.

The area is characterize by many cobbled streets with sidewalks. There is a tranquil atmosphere that attracts both holidaymakers and permanent residents.

It is also a great place to walk. Distances are not far, the streets are relatively quiet, and there is a splendid, paved beachfront path which runs the whole length of the district.

Sanur is a paradise for snorkeling enthusiasts. The crystal-clear waters and colorful coral reefs offer a unique and unforgettable underwater experience. Snorkeling in Sanur is perfect for beginners, as the water is calm and shallow, making it easy to observe the stunning marine life.

Seminyak

Seminyak is located on the West side of Bali, just a stone’s throw (10 km) from the International Airport

The town has a huge variety of shops, including boutique clothing stores, furniture stores, markets and art galleries. There is something to suit everyone’s taste of food, with local warungs and fine dining, and a variety of international cuisines.

Jalan Raya Seminyak is the main walking street of the Seminyak resort area in Bali.

There is a long stretch of beautiful beach with white sand and clear waters, perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and surfing.

The upscale resort town is still the number one destination for luxury properties. Villas & Apartments for sale and rent in Seminyak are still in high demand.

In Seminyak, villas and apartments are on average more expensive than in the surrounding areas in the south and north. The further you are from the ocean, the less expensive villas and apartments become.
